I am a lawyer and Pilates instructor trying to find balance between hard work and ease; mental stillness and stimulation; creativity and rigidity.

my ‘why’ pilates

Once I finally became a lawyer, I realized how unsettled my nervous system was. I spent YEARS under chronic stress - getting the grades, getting the jobs, making the connections, docketing 14-hour days, cheating my limits - all towards becoming a great lawyer. But in becoming great, I didn't move my body consistently, I neglected prayer and devotion, I consumed without intention, I self-isolated, all in exchange for the coveted three-worded email, "great job, Anne".

But surely great can't mean self-neglect?

I have since reckoned that I can no longer operate as a high-achieving, burnt-out perfectionist. I’ve learned that any development, whether professional, academic, financial, personal or spiritual, must be done sustainably. And Pilates became a catalyst for my newfound appreciation for steadiness, mind-body connection and a regulated nervous system.

I am now Thee Pilates Advocate and truly believe that everyone deserves access to the modality and a safe space to practice.

My teaching style

My passion for movement, music, and community collide in my Pilates classes.

Whether you are…

  • A high-achieving, driven, student, entrepreneur and/or a 9-5er;

  • A high-performing athlete;

  • New to Pilates & movement;

  • Trying to rebuild mental and/or physical strength;

  • Searching for community care & warmth…

There's room for you in my classes.

I am a long-time mover with experience competing in Basketball, Rugby, Touch Football, Rowing, and CrossFit. With this background, I used to think Pilates wasn’t for me - its slowness bored me, my body hated stillness.

I have now come to appreciate stillness, & have learned to curate balanced classes that allow you to ebb & flow between hard work and ease as you develop your practice. You’ll be guided through controlled, purposeful movements focused on building core strength, increasing flexibility, and enhancing muscular endurance. You probably won’t sweat out your silk press, but you will get the Pilates shake.

With Cleo Sol, Frank Ocean and the great Jazmine Sullivan on the playlist, a good time is guaranteed. Movement should be fun, and I try my best to make it so.
